All foreign shipping lines import their containerized cargoes into Iranian ports using the transshipment method. Container transshipment is one of the most sustainable and economically competitive modes of transportation. This study uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the importance of various factors affecting the use of container transshipment by container shipping companies. A hierarchical structure with three levels and 13 attributes is presented and tested. This study presents an AHP model to help decision makers assess the importance of various factors influencing the use of transshipment transport by container shipping companies. The study shows that “policies and infrastructure” and “costs” are two key factors in the adoption of transshipment transport. Furthermore, five main criteria including “consequences of entering a sanctioned country”, “consequences of entering a lawless country port”, “transshipment time”, “favorable port tariff system” and “efficient terminal operations” have the greatest impact on container companies’ decision-making. These findings indicate that cost and time are two critical factors in choosing transshipment transportation services. به انتقال کانتینر از یک کشتی به کشتی دیگری ترانشیپمنت گفته می‌شود. همه خطوط کشتیرانی خارجی محموله‌های کانتینری خود را با استفاده از روش ترانشیپ به بنادر ایرانی وارد می‌کنند. ترانشیپ کانتینر یکی از پایدارترین و ازنظر اقتصادی رقابتی‌ترین شیوه‌های حمل‌ونقل است. این مطالعه از روش فرایند تحلیل سلسله‌مراتبی برای تعیین اهمیت عوامل مختلف مؤثر بر استفاده شرکت‌های حمل‌ونقل کانتینری از ترانشیپ کانتینر استفاده می‌کند. ساختاری سلسله‌مراتبی با سه سطح و ۱3 ویژگی ارائه و آزموده شده است. این مطالعه یک مدل تحلیل سلسله‌مراتبی ارائه می‌دهد تا تصمیم‌گیرندگان بتوانند اهمیت عوامل مختلف تأثیرگذار بر استفاده از حمل‌ونقل ترانشیپمنت توسط شرکت‌های حمل کانتینری را ارزیابی کنند مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که «سیاست‌ها و زیرساخت‌ها» و «هزینه‌ها» دو عامل کلیدی در پذیرش حمل‌ونقل ترانشیپمنت هستند. علاوه‌بر این، پنج معیار اصلی شامل «تبعات ورود به کشور تحریمی»، «تبعات ورود به بندر کشورهای بی‌قانون»، «زمان ترانشیپمنت»، «سیستم تعرفه بندری مطلوب» و «عملیات ترمینالی کارآمد» بیشترین تأثیر را بر تصمیم‌گیری شرکت‌های کانتینری دارند. این یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهند که هزینه و زمان دو عامل حیاتی در انتخاب خدمات حمل‌ونقل ترانشیپمنت هستند.
