Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the factors influencing the establishment of a maritime passenger route and the development of related infrastructure between the ports of Chabahar and Muscat, with the aim of proposing practical strategies for the development of regional maritime transport. The research was applied in nature and employed a descriptive-survey method. The statistical population consisted of 60 experts and managers from the Chabahar Ports and Maritime Administration, from whom 52 individuals were selected using a non-random purposive sampling method. Data were collected via a researcher-designed questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS software (version 22). The instrument's validity was confirmed using the Average Variance Extracted (AVE > 0.5) index, while its reliability was verified through Cronbach’s alpha and composite reliability (CR > 0.7). Linear regression results indicated that information security, with a beta coefficient of 0.35, exerts the greatest influence on the establishment of the passenger line. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation test confirmed a positive and relatively strong relationship (r = 0.64) between information security and process security. The findings demonstrated that the proposed passenger line possesses adequate capacity and operational feasibility. Accordingly, focusing on enhancing security, reducing costs, and improving the user experience can serve as a basis for decision-making by managers and policymakers regarding the launch of this maritime passenger line.
