Abstract

These days, transportation is one of the decisive side of development in nations. One of the most prominent part of transport system is intercity road transport, the quality, infrastructure and the route management play a significant role in the flourishing of the socities. In order to acquire high quality in the field of road transport, first of all, sufficient infrastructure is required, secondly and even more importantly, thoigh, so as to revolutionize the situation, necessity of management is inevitable. In Iran, a vast number of intercity routes have sufficient infrastructure, therefore, the management measures of these roads must be implemented. The current study investigates to find the determinative factors affecting on mode shift, travel route shift, travel time change and willingness to pay under the impact of charging in different conditions. Subsequently, by using 648 questionnaires and the results of the mixed logit and multinomial logit models, travel behavior of decision maker has been examined. The provided results indicate, increase in price, users have tendency to utilize the free route, also car users shift to the public transport. Owing to the rise of travel time, they prefer to use private cars and freeway. Other results reveal that high-frequency users are far more fragile to prices, not to mention in order to decline travel cost, individuals are frequently looking to route shift or changing travel time.
