Identification and Prioritization of methods to correct Accident black spot using the integrated model Group BWM-TOPSIS

Abstract

With the progress and development of road transportation, today's world is witnessing an increase in accidents and the imposition of financial, human and spiritual costs on the society. Based on this, managers and planners have identified and corrected high-accident points. But the implementation of corrective solutions in these areas is faced with the limitation of financial resources and so on. The purpose of this research is to identify high-accident points in the city of Sanandaj and to prioritize the corrective solutions of said points. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in nature. The statistical population of the research was considered to be all accidents between the years 1998 to 1400 in Sanandaj city. Also, the statistical population of the second part (prioritization of solutions) was traffic safety experts and Municipality of Sanandaj, and sampling was done in a targeted manner. The method of data analysis was the developed model of BWM multi-criteria decision-making goal programming in multi-expert mode and its combination with TOPSIS. The results of the implementation of the model in Sanandaj city indicated that 5 points, Nayser, Mostazafein, Behesht Mohammadi, Abidar and Pasdaran streets are high in accidents, and the first priority is the correction solutions for Nayser and Mostazafein streets, installation of speed bumps, for Behesht Mohammadi street, installation of cameras to record violations and installation of warning signs for Abider and Pasdaran streets.
