Solutions for Improving Port Operation in Abadan Port

Abstract

In order to improve their function, ports like other organizations, urgently need to recognize and consider effective elements in all port’s operations success. The goal of this research is to recognize and analysis effective elements of port operations improvement of Abadan Port. For this purpose, a questionnaire had been prepared, based on Q methodology, and distributed among experts and scholars to be filled. Then, using SPSS application, factor analysis was done, and 30 effective factors which were effective on port operation improvement have recognized. After factor analysis had been done, and important factors were derived, 12 categories of opinions as important factors were gotten.
The scores gotten from factor analysis indicated that competency of education group is a strength point, and out-of-date operation machineries is a weakness point for Abadan port operation.
