In this paper, flow around bridge guide wall bank has been simulated numerically using 2DH hydrodynamic model. A finite volume fractional step method has been used to solve the governing equations. In this study, an unstructured triangular mesh has been deployed to discredited the problem domain. Using this model, the free surface elevation and
depth-averaged velocities have been calculated in computational domain. To calculate these mentioned parameters, at first, the advection and diffusion terms in the momentum equations have been solved and the intermediate velocities have been achieved. The influence of bed friction has been added in the second step. By solving the continuity equation and the remaining terms of the momentum equations simultaneously, the free surface elevation will be determined. Finally, using the calculated free surface elevation, final velocity values are obtained. After validating the model with several test cases and ensure its proper performance, the model was used to assess different forms of bridge guide wall bank and the Appropriate geometry of bridge guide wall bank has been determined.
